Hospice at Home West Cumbria invites pet owners to celebrate their companions

Hospice at Home West Cumbria is delighted to announce the launch of its first ever Companions in Comfort Showcase.

The fun-filled virtual pet competition designed to celebrate the beloved pets of West Cumbria while raising vital funds to support local patients and their families.

Companions in Comfort Showcase

Pet owners are invited to enter their furry, feathered, or scaly companions for just ÂŁ5 per entry for the chance to win vouchers generously donated by RTSN Huddart Supplies, Cockermouth.

Holly Harkness, Community Fundraising Coordinator at Hospice at Home West Cumbria said: â€śWe know how much joy and comfort pets bring to people’s lives, particularly during challenging times.

“As patients receive care and support in their own homes, they can remain alongside the pets they love, which can make a huge difference to their wellbeing.

“Pets provide comfort, reduce feelings of loneliness and anxiety, and offer a sense of normality in the most difficult of times.

“The Companions in Comfort Showcase is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our pets while helping us continue our work supporting patients and their families across West Cumbria.”

Entries will compete across four exciting categories:

  • Cutest Smile
  • Best Trick
  • Best Dressed
  • Most Unique Look

Following the entry period, a panel will shortlist the top entries in each category.

The shortlisted pets will then be showcased on the Hospice at Home West Cumbria Facebook page, where members of the public will be invited to cast their votes and help choose the winners.

The winners of each category will be announced on the August 17, with prizes awarded to the pets receiving the most public votes.

Every ÂŁ5 entry fee will go directly towards supporting Hospice at Home West Cumbria’s work, helping local patients and their loved ones access the care, support, and comfort when they need it most.

Hospice at Home West Cumbria would like to thank RTSN Huddart Supplies , Cockermouth for their generous support and prize donations.
