West Cumbria is gearing up for a historic moment as it prepares to host its very first bare-knuckle boxing show.
On Saturday, August 12, Whitehaven Bare Knuckle Boxing will bring together fighters from across England for a night of intense sport.
The event promises an authentic display of skill and determination, as fighters discard gloves to embrace the raw essence of the sport.
Ten fights are set to take place over three weight classes – one fight for British Middleweight, four for British Light Heavyweight, and five for British Heavyweight.
Several Cumbrian boxers will be making their debut on the evening, including; Russell Burns, Dan Park, Martin Smith Phil Flavell Jimmy Wilson and Bartek Kanaby.
In the lead-up organisers explained how ‘countless hours’ had gone into the planning of the event and making it happen.
In a social media post they explained: “Countless hours have already gone into making the event happen, matching fights so we have a card of ten, 50/50 bouts on the evening and leaving no stone unturned in making sure we have everything in place for our fighters and spectators.”
West Cumbria’s first bare-knuckle boxing show takes place this weekend, August 12, at Copeland Stadium, in Whitehaven. A limited number of tickets are available HERE and minimum age of entry is 16.
