Cumbria Manufacturing Alliance appoint communications partner to grow its profile and imapct

Cumbria Manufacturing Alliance (CMA) has appointed Saturn Four Media as the groups communications partner to grow its profile and impact.

The ambitious collective of some of Cumbria’s most experienced engineering, manufacturing and specialist businesses have brought in Saturn Four Media as they look to take their combined capability to a much wider market.

The ambition behind the CMA is significant with companies in the group such as Delkia Ltd, Forth Engineering, Thomas Graham & Sons and Lakes College.

Lee Grears, Managing Director at Test Inspect Group, and one of Cumbria’s rising business leaders said: “Cumbria has always had the skills to take on some of the toughest engineering work in the world, and the CMA gives those skills one voice and the scale to compete globally.

“As one of the Alliance’s inspection and testing partners, Test Inspect Group is proud to help prove that work is right, and we fully back the CMA’s ambition to become a global name for solving engineering’s biggest challenges.”

Across Cumbria, businesses have spent decades developing the people, knowledge and specialist capability required to work within some of the most complex, highly regulated and hazardous engineering environments in the world.

Individually, those businesses have built formidable reputations.

Together, the ambition is to create something even stronger.

The Cumbria Manufacturing Alliance brings that capability together, creating a collaborative force capable of responding to major engineering challenges across sectors, industries and international markets.

Saturn Four has now been appointed to help communicate that story.

Sean Saunders, Managing Director at Bendalls, said: “We are delighted to see Saturn Four appointed as the CMA’s communications agency.

“Clear and consistent come is key to raising the CMA’s profile, and we look forward to working with the team over the coming months.”

As communications partner, Saturn Four will work alongside CMA members to create greater clarity around the Alliance, its collective capability and its ambition, before building the consistent communications needed to take that message beyond Cumbria.

Daley Rogers, Director at Saturn Four Media, said: “Cumbria has an extraordinary depth of engineering knowledge and capability, much of it developed through businesses working within environments where standards simply cannot be compromised.

“The exciting part of the CMA is what happens when you bring that experience together.

“There is a genuine ambition amongst the members to build an engineering alliance capable of supporting some of the most challenging and hazardous engineering projects, not just here in Cumbria or across the UK, but potentially anywhere in the world.

“Our job isn’t to create that story. It already exists.

“Our job is to help the Alliance get clear about what it represents, communicate its combined capability properly and make sure the people and organisations who need that capability understand what exists here in Cumbria.

“That is exactly the kind of challenge Saturn Four was built for.”

The appointment will see Saturn Four develop and coordinate the Alliance’s communications, working closely with its members to create a consistent external presence while showcasing the individual expertise and capability that sits behind the CMA.

Callum Woodend, Managing Director at WCEL , said: “Cumbria Manufacturing Alliance is thrilled to welcome Saturn Four as our communications agency.

“Their appointment marks an important step in strengthening how we communicate the CMA’s vision, ambitions and collective capabilities.

“I look forward to working closely with the team, and it is particularly positive to have another Cumbrian business supporting the Alliance as we continue to grow our profile and impact.”

For Saturn Four, the partnership reflects its own approach: clarity first, then momentum.

The agency was established to help good businesses understand their mission, define their direction and communicate what they do properly.

The next stage is about helping the Cumbria Manufacturing Alliance do exactly that and ensuring the scale of engineering capability that already exists within the county is understood far beyond it.
