Hospice at Home West Cumbria have launched their Christmas fundraising campaigns this week, asking supporters across our area to support their Christmas Raffle and take part in a Christmas Jumper Day this December.
Businesses, schools, and community groups across West Cumbria can join in the festive fun with a Christmas Jumper Day to support the charity’s vital palliative and end of life services.

Participants will receive a free fundraising pack when they sign up, full of ideas to help supporters raise as much as possible while also adding some festive fun to the day through quizzes, games, and decorations.
Anyone can join in and taking part is easy – simply choose a day in December to don your Christmas knits, contact the Hospice at Home West Cumbria fundraising team on: 01900 873173 or email info@hhwc.org.uk to let them know about your Christmas Jumper Day and register for your free fundraising pack.
The hospice’s Christmas Raffle runs until Monday, December 14, and gives supporters the chance to win the top prize of £250 in time for Christmas Day.
This year’s raffle promises something for everyone with lots of prizes up for grabs, having been donated by local businesses who have chosen to support the charity.
These include: The Washington Central Hotel in Workington, Windermere Lake Cruises, the Keswick Launch Company, New Balance in Flimby, Honister Slate Mine, The Gather in Ennerdale, Workington AFC, Tropic by Leanne, and Kels Scentsy Smells.
Tickets for the Christmas Raffle are £1 each, and are available to purchase on the hospice’s website, or in person at their Workington and Cockermouth shops, and their Therapy and Information Centre in Workington.
Holly Harkness, Community Fundraising Co-ordinator at Hospice at Home West Cumbria, said: “Christmas is such a precious time for our patients and their families, and our amazing nurses and healthcare assistants will be there to support them throughout the festive period, thanks to the support of our local community.
“This Christmas, we are asking you to join in with one of our festive fundraising campaigns to raise some vital funds so that we can continue to be there for patients when they need us most.
“Whether you choose to don a Christmas jumper, or purchase some raffle tickets from our Workington or Cockermouth shops, you can help us make a difference.
“We’d like to say thank you to the local businesses who have kindly donated a prize to our Christmas Raffle – every penny raised stays in West Cumbria, so we’re delighted to be able to partner with a number of West Cumbrian businesses to highlight some fantastic places on our doorstep and the amazing support we receive from our local community.”
Don’t miss your chance to take part – with your support, Hospice at Home West Cumbria can continue to help patients, their families and loved ones this Christmas.
