Reform UK candidate Josh Kirkwood has been elected as councillor for the Harraby South ward of Cumberland Council.

The election for the Cumberland Council Harraby South ward was held on Thursday, August 20.

The size of the electorate was 4,733 and the number of ballot papers issued was 1,320.

Turnout was 27.89 percent.

The number of votes for each candidate at the said election is as follows:

• Josh KIRKWOOD – Reform UK – 560 (Elected)
• Ruth Elizabeth ALCROFT – The Labour Party – 469
• Rob CURRIE – The Conservative Party – 236
• Rose-Ellen KEMP – Green Party – 29
• Stuart KELLY – Liberal Democrats – 23
