St Bees School is celebrating the achievements of its Sixth Form students following the publication of the 2026 A Level and AS Level results.

The school recorded a 97 percent A Level pass rate.

Across A Level and AS Level results, 71 percent of passing grades were at A*–C, while one quarter of students achieved exclusively A* or A grades across all of their A Level and AS Level subjects.

Headmaster Mr Laurence Gribble said: “We are immensely proud of our students.

“These results reflect their determination, the expertise and care of our staff, and the encouragement of families throughout the year.

“A 97 percent pass rate is a strong achievement, but it is equally important that the po sitive Value Added score shows how much progress students have made from their individual starting points.

“We congratulate every member of the cohort and wish them every success as they take their next steps.”

Students have achieved the grades needed to take up outstanding university offers.

Destinations include General Engineering at King’s College London, Environmental Management at the University of Manchester, Sociology at the University of Manchester, Biomedicine at Lancaster University and Content, Media and Film Production at BIMM University.

The results also demonstrate the progress students made from their individual baselines.

The school’s overall A Level value-added score was +0.17, showing that the cohort achieved above baseline expectations.

Progress in STEM subjects was particularly strong, with an overall value-added score of +0.44.

In addition, 43 percent of students achieved their stretch target grade, with many performing at the upper end of the school’s expectations for them.

St Bees School’s Sixth Form combines ambitious academic teaching with small class sizes, individual mentoring and a broad approach to personal development.
