Emergency services respond as 8-year-old girl hit by car

Cumbria Police confirmed an eight-year-old girl has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car.

At 11.28am on Monday, August 3, police responded to reports of an incident involving a car and a little girl, in Egremont.

An eight-year-old girl had been hit by a car in the Orgill area of Egremont.

Emergency services, including the air ambulance, attended the scene as the road was closed.

The girl was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life threatening or life changing, police said.
