A by-election has been called for the Harraby South ward of Cumberland Council, following the resignation of Councillor Lucy Patrick.

The Notice of Election published on Thursday, July 16, has provided the details of the by-election.

The deadline for nomination papers is 4pm (16:00) on Friday, July 24.

Applications to be added to the electoral register must be made by midnight on Tuesday, August 4, to take part in this election.

Anyone wanting to apply for a postal vote or making changes to existing postal or proxy votes must do so by 5pm (17:00) on Tuesday, August 4.

The deadline for applying to vote by proxy is 5pm (17:00) on Wednesday, August 12.

If contested, the poll will take place on Thursday, August 12.
