West Cumbria Bowls Leagues: Workington and Harris Park top leagues as Cumbria in action

Workington A go clear at the top of Fours League as Harris Park A lead is cut at the top of the Mixed Triples League.

Cumbria’s Alsop Cup team were in action in their penultimate game of the season.

West Cumbria Fours League

The clubs in the Fours League started the reverse fixtures on Friday, June 26, as leaders Workington A won 7-0 at home to Whitehaven B while Whitehaven A slipped to three points adrift after a 5-2 win against Harris Park.

Fitz Park moved to within ten points of second place with a 7-0 win at fourth placed Cleator Moor.

Maryport moved into fifth place with a 5-2 win over Vulcan Park and Seaton lost 5-2 to Workington B.

The first game of July on Friday 3, two of the top three meet as Workington A head to Fitz Park as Whitehaven A travel to Vulcan Park.

Cleator Moor head to Workington B as fifth placed Maryport head to sixth placed Harris Park and Whitehaven B host Seaton.

West Cumbria Mixed Triples League

League leaders Harris Park A have had their lead cut to 8 points as they lost 5-4 at Cleator Moor on Tuesday, June 23, as Maryport won 7-2 at home to Workington B.

Whitehaven A 9-0 win against Workington side Vulcan Park B move them into third as Wigton are up to sixth with a 7-2 win at Vulcan Park A.

Cockermouth side Croft stay ahead of host Seascale despite a 5-4 defeat and Harris Park B picked up an 8-1 win at home to Seaton.

Workington A and Egremont game was postponed.

The league takes a break as the quarterfinals of the Knockout Cup are played on Tuesday, June 30.

In an all Cockermouth tie Harris Park A face Croft as Harris Park B head to Workington A while Whitehaven A host 2025 winners Wigton and Whitehaven B play Seascale.

Cumbria County Teams

Cumbria’s Alsop team were in action at Silloth on Saturday, June 27, as they hosted Yorkshire in their penultimate game.

The Cumbrian team won five rinks with an overall shot score of 131-104 to win 20-2.

The team take to Durham for their final game of the 2026 season.
