Motorcyclist who died in crash remembered for ‘wonderful sense of humour’

The family of a motorcyclist who died following a crash near Waverton have paid tribute to a man they described as having a “wonderful sense of humour”.

At around 11:40am on Saturday, May 24, Cumbria Police responded to reports of a crash near Waverton Village.

The incident a tractor and two motorcyclists.
One of the motorcyclists involved, a man in his 60s, died at the scene.

Police have confirmed the man who died was Colin Edward Brunt, 65, from the Milnthorpe area.

His family paid tribute to his life in a statement via Cumbria Police.

They said: “We are utterly devastated at the sudden loss of our wonderful husband and brother.

“Colin was much-loved by his family and popular in his village, talking to many on walks with his two adored golden retrievers.

“Meticulous and passionate in all his hobbies, from fishing and hang-gliding in his youth to vintage motorcycling in later years.

“A wonderful sense of humour, we will cherish every memory of him.”

Following the crash police launched an appeal for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

A spokesperson for Cumbria Police said: “Police are continuing to investigate the collision and encourage anyone with information which may assist this investigation to come forward.
