Police have named the grandmother who died after she was hit by a motorbike while crossing the road with her grandchild.
At around 4:45pm on Tuesday, May 26, police responded to reports of a crash involving an elderly woman in Cleator Moor.
The incident occurred on Ennerdale Road when a woman, in her 70s, was crossing the road with her grandchild when they were struck by a motorbike.
Emergency services attended but the woman died at the scene.
The child was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Police have now confirmed the grandmother who died was 76-year-old Gillian Livingstone, from Cleator Moor.
Police arrested three men – all from West Cumbria and aged in their 20s – on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
One man will appear at court charged in connection with the death of the woman.
Kieran Yorke, 22, from Woodend, Egremont, will appear at Workington Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, May 28, charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
Two other men, aged 22 and 23 respectively, have been bailed pending further enquiries.
