Carlisle Magistrates Court has approved a three month closure to a property in West Cumbria.
Copeland Neighbourhood Policing Team acting on concerns raised by residents, successfully applied to for a closure order at a property on Mill Hill, Cleator Moor.
This was following extensive reports of anti-social behaviour affecting residents.
The court granted the initial order on February 19, 2026, for a period of three months.
On Monday May 11, the Magistrates granted a further application to ensure the premises would remain closed for a further three months to prevent any continued disorder and anti-social behaviour.
Inspector Mike Hird from the local Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “Such orders are not considered lightly, and these are robust measures used to deal with prolific and persistent issues.
“These orders can be used on private houses, social houses and even businesses who choose to actively engage in persistent disorder and ASB.
“The period of the closure order will allow the local community to have a reprieve from this behaviour as wider partnership working continues to address longer term solutions.”
