A Workington cricketer has been selected for the England Lions after a successful trial in Derbyshire.
Paul McKeown attended the trail match at Ticknall Cricket Club in Derbyshire where a squad of 23 players were split into two teams.

McKeown on Team A was put into the field first.
Taking two wickets during the game Michael Jadunath was McKeown’s first.
Coming down the pitch to McKeown, Jadunath missed the ball and giving Simon Routh an easy stumping.
Two balls later, another wicket fell, Nigel Martyn mistiming a shot and McKeown taking the catch off his own bowling.
A spokesperson for Workington Cricket Club said: “We as a club couldn’t be any prouder of Paul McKeown.
“A lifetime of dedication to the sport and Chief is reaping the rewards that he so richly deserves.”
The Lions team will have a busy summer with games against Scotland, Geelong, UK Indians, Dragon and Western Australia as well as an inter-squad match.
