The family of Absi Ahmed have paid tribute to a ‘bright, kind and funny’ young man and have highlighted the consequences of entering open water.
The 17-year-old died following an incident at High Dam Tarn on April 7.

In tribute to Absi Ahmed, his family said: “Absi was a bright, kind, funny young man with his whole future ahead of him.
“He was a loyal friend, a loving son, and someone who brought warmth and laughter wherever he went.
“His loss has shaken our entire community.”
A spokesperson for Cumbria Police added: “The family would like to take this opportunity to highlight the devastating consequences of entering open water.
