Cumbria Police Appeal For Information As 5 Year Old Is Flown To Royal Victoria Infirmary

Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Ennerdale Road, Maryport.

The collision involved a black BMW and a 5-year-old boy, yesterday May 7 at around 4:35pm.

The boy was flown to Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle where his condition is described as critical but stable.

The driver of the BMW, a 35-year-old woman from Maryport was uninjured.

The road was closed to allow a forensic collision investigation to be carried out.
