Westmorland And Furness Candidates Line Up For First Elections In New Authority

The first elections in the new Westmorland and Furness authority are set to take place.

On Thursday May 4 voters will be heading to the polls to vote for parish or town councils with one councillor being elected to sit on the Westmorland and Furness council.

The vacancy on the Westmorland and Furness Council for Old Barrow and Hindpool came about following the death of Councillor Ann Thomson in January.

This will also be the first election where voters will need to show ID to prove who they are.
