Cumbria’s Rugby Union Sides To Play Final Games Of The Season

All the hard work during the season comes down to this weekend as teams either play their final game or head into their penultimate games.

The North West Division finishes on Saturday March 18 with the title still up for grabs after the round on March 11.

Lymm have played their final game recording a 81-5 win over Northwich to sit top.

Blackburn after their 50-26 win over Wirral need a big win in their final game against Manchester to claim the title.

Sandbach won 32-34 at Kendal while Rossendale ran out 5-95 winners at Kirkby Lonsdale, Burnage beat Stockport 27-45 and Macclesfield sent Manchester away with a 37-17 defeat.

To finish off the season on March 18 Kirkby Lonsdale host Wirral, Macclesfield welcome Burnage and Stockport head to Northwich.

Third face fourth as Rossendale take on Sandbach and Manchester host Blackburn.

In Regional 2 North two games were cancelled on March 11 with Durham City’s game with Penrith and Consett’s match with Keswick rearranged for April.

Second placed Morpeth won 26-0 at Stockton, Northern lost 21-41 to Percy Park, Carlisle lost 22-24 in a close game with South Shields Westoe and Middlesbrough moved up to fifth with a 44-28 win over Aspatria.

The rugby starts early with Consett facing Durham City on Friday March 17.

Three games on March 18 finish the season for those sides as Middlesbrough host Carlisle, Aspatria face Morpeth and Northern take on South Shields Westoe.

Upper Eden head into the Cumbria Cup final on March 18 with a nine point gap at the of Conference 1.

On March 11 Egremont lost 32-43 to second placed Cockermouth, Upper Eden ran out 5-60 winners at Wigton and Whitehaven were 24-12 victors over Millom.

There is only the one game on March 18 as Millom welcome Egremont and Cockermouth have been awarded the points in their game against Wigton.

Penrith II are now level with Hawcoat Park at the top of Conference 2 after March 11.

Of the three games only two were played as Penrith were awarded the points against St Benedicts Creighton picked up a 43-10 win over Workington and Hawcoat Park lost 38-17 at Silloth.

There are just two games on March 18 as St Benedicts host Creighton and Workington face Silloth.
