Penrith Rugby Union Go Top As Cumbrian Sides Battle The Weather

In one of the few games to be played with Cumbrian side featuring in all, Penrith went top of their division.

Just the single game in the North West Division survived the plummeting temperatures on January 21.

Second placed Lymm closed the gap to table topping Blackburn with a 79-21 win over Kendal.

Kendal are back at home on January 28 when they welcome Macclesfield, Kirkby Lonsdale host Lymm and Blackburn take on Northwich.

Burnage face Manchester while Rossendale travel to Stockport and Wirral welcome Sandbach.

There are new leaders in Regional 2 North after one game survives on January 21.

The Cumbrian derby between Penrith and Keswick was played as the rest of the division was postponed.

Second placed Penrith moved above Morpeth with a 92-20 win over their local rivals.

All teams are back in action on January 28 with Carlisle facing Aspatria, Penrith travel to South Shields Westoes and Keswick head to Stockton.

Consett host Middlesbrough while Durham City welcome Percy Park and Morpeth take on Northern.

In Conference 1 on January 21 Upper Eden and Cockermouth was postponed while Millom picked up a 39-14 win over Wigton and Whitehaven beat Egremont 17-6.

On January 28 Cockermouth will be looking to play their first game when they host Millom, Egremont welcome unbeaten Upper Eden and Wigton face Whitehaven.

In the other half, Conference 2, there were just the two games on January 21 as Creighton and Silloth was postponed, St Benedicts beat top of the table Hawcoat Park 24-13 and Workington lost to Penrith II 8-36.

Hawcoat Park have a home win awarded against Workington in this round on January 28 with Silloth taking on St Benedicts.

While Penrith and Creighton play on Friday January 27.
