Brockbanks And Cartmel Shepherd Are Supporting Make A Will Month For Hospice at Home West Cumbria

Two local solicitors have joined forces with a West Cumbrian charity to launch the Make a Will Month campaign during February.

Brockbanks Solicitors and Cartmell Shepherd, will be showing their support for Hospice at Home West Cumbria by generously donating their usual legal fees associated with making a simple Will during February when people book an appointment through the Make a Will campaign.

Lucy Fuggle, Solicitor and a Trust and Estate Practitioner at Brockbanks Solicitors said, “I have supported Hospice at Home West Cumbria for many years and am so pleased that, as a local solicitor, Brockbanks supports me and the rest of our team to do what we can to champion such a fantastic charity.

“Without the care and resources provided by their staff to the people of West Cumbria, many families would have to travel long distances for support at what can be a very difficult time.”

Claire Wilson, Senior Associate Solicitor, Cartmell Shepherd Solicitors added: “Make a Will month is a wonderful opportunity to execute a professional Will whilst also contributing to our fantastic local hospice. This is the third year that we have taken part.

“Whilst we appreciate it is difficult for some people to discuss what happens when they die, it is important to leave clear instructions for your loved ones to ensure your estate is passed to those that you wish it to.”

Hospice at Home West Cumbria provides high quality palliative and end of life care to people living in West Cumbria.

They provide home nursing, emotional support, complementary therapies, and specialist lymphoedema care.

The charity must raise over £1 million each year to deliver its free services and one in four of our patients are cared for thanks to gifts left in Wills.

Julie Monk, CEO at Hospice at Home West Cumbria said: “We are delighted that Brockbanks Solicitors and Cartmell Shepherd are supporting our campaign again this year and helping to raise awareness of the importance of having a professionally written Will.

“Thinking about writing a Will is something many of us don’t get round to doing as there always seem to be many other calls on our time.

“Making a Will means you can ensure your wishes are carried out and if you do it during our campaign, you will also be supporting hospice care across West Cumbria.

“We are very grateful to Solicitors and Cartmell Shepherd for generously donating their fees, time and expertise.”

It costs just £150 for a simple single Will and £200 for a mirror Will, a reciprocal arrangement between two people.

Limited appointments are available during February.

Booking is now available, and you can secure you appointment by contacting Brockbanks Solicitors at their Cockermouth office (01900 827222), Workington office (01900 603563) and Whitehaven office (01946 556784), or Cartmell Shepherd Solicitors at their Cockermouth office (01900 876123).
