North West Women’s Regional Football Leagues All In The Balance After Winter Break

North West Women’s Regional Leagues return after the winter break and all three leagues are in the balance with a win or a loss making a big difference.

A full round survived the cold weather on Sunday December 4 with Salford City getting the better result with 5-4 win over FC United to go joint top with them.

Cheadle Town stay third with a 2-1 win over fourth placed Tranmere, Blackburn beat Curzon Ashton 3-2 as Crewe Alexandra won 2-1 at home to Fleetwood Town and Darwen FC picked up a 4-1 win over Mossley Hill.

In the final two games of 2022 on December 11 Curzon Ashton beat Crewe Alexandra 1-0 to move up to fourth as Tranmere dropped to fifth after a 0-2 defeat by West Didsbury.

The joint leaders are back in action on January 8 as Salford City host Darwen FC and FC United travel to Fleetwood Town.

Third play fourth as Cheadle Town head to Curzon Ashton, Crewe Alexandra host Mossley Hill and Tranmere face Blackburn Community.

All matches are a 2pm (14:00) kickoff.

It was a earlier finish in Division One North as the fixtures finished on December 4.

In a full six game round Haslingden moved back to the top with a 2-0 victory over Workington Reds as Blackpool lost 1-6 at home to Penrith AFC to drop to second.

Carlisle United dropped below Bolton Wanderers after a 0-3 defeat, Chorley lost 1-2 to Morecambe, Preston North End and Accrington Stanley cancelled each other out in a 0-0 draw as Sir Tom Finney and Penwortham Town also shared the points with a 1-1 draw.

All they teams are scheduled to return to action on January 8 as the top two are on the road as Haslingden head to Sir Tom Finney and Blackpool travel to Carlisle United.

Accrington travel to Morecambe, Penrith host Preston, Chorley face Workington and Bolton Wanderers take on Penwortham.

Division One South finish on December 4 as Bury FC stayed top with a 3-2 win over Warrington Wolves, Poulton Vics dropped to third with a 2-2 draw against Altrincham, Runcorn Linnets moved up to second with a 5-0 win over Wythenshawe, Chester FC join another two teams on 13 points after 6-2 win over BRNESC and Northwich are up to fourth with a 2-6 win at Hindley.

Ten teams return to league matches on January 8 as Bury face third placed Poulton Vics as Runcorn head to Hindley.

BRNESC host Northwich, Warrington Wolves take on Alder and Wythenshawe welcome Altrincham.
