New League Leaders In The North West Women’s Regional Football Leagues

The North West Women’s Regional Leagues has new leaders after the weekends action.

On Sunday September 4 Tranmere Rovers Women went clear at the top of the Premier with a 1-2 win away at Crewe Alexander FC Women.

Second place goes to FC United of Manchester Women on goal difference after a 0-5 win at West Didsbury & Chorlton AFC Women while a 2-5 win for Curzon Ashton FC Women at Darwen FC First Women put them in third.

Dropping to fourth after a 2-2 draw Salford City FC Lionesses Women sit a point above Cheadle Town Stingers.

Moving up to six Fleetwood Town Wrens Ladies picked up a 2-3 win at bottom club Wigan Athletic Ladies & Girls Women while Blackburn Community Sports Club Women and Mossley Hill Athletic First Ladies played out a 2-2 draw.

There is another early top of the table clash as Tranmere host FC United, Curzon Ashton will look to take advantage of that match when they face West Didsbury, Salford City play Blackburn, Cheadle Town take on Fleetwood Town and Wigan host Crewe in a bottom of the table battle.

All matches are 14:00 (2:00pm) kickoff on Sunday September 11.

In the Division One North Penwortham Town went to the top with a 3-4 win at Morecambe as Preston North End dropped to fourth as Haslingden Ladies and Girls move above them after they beat Preston 2-3.

A 1-1 between Workington Reds and Accrington Stanley has Stanley move up to third.

Wins for Blackpool FC Girls and Ladies at Bolton Wanderers and Carlisle United Ladies at Sir Tom Finney moves them up to fifth and sixth.

A big win for Penrith AFC Ladies as they beat Chorley Development 8-0 in Cumbria.

Only three games in the division as the FA cup kicks off.

Accrington Stanley face Morecambe, Blackpool take on Chorley and Carlisle United host Haslingden.

A 2-1 win for BRNESC at home to Hindley Juniors Women moves them up to fourth while Poulton Vics FC 2-7 win at Altrincham FC lifts them to sixth.

Wythenshawe Amateurs are still bottom of the league after a 1-3 defeat by Runcorn Linnets FC who are up to seventh.

Two games will take place due to the FA cup ties with Poulton Vics hosting Alder and Runcorn play Chester.
