Workington Town Council has given Siddick residents reason to ‘jump for joy’ by adding new play equipment to its play area.
Before COVID-19, Workington Town Council applied for funding from the The Wythegill Wind Farm to enhance the play area at Siddick and introduce some additional trees and shrubs.

Although they were successful at the time, it has taken until now to get the equipment installed and planted due to constraints COVID-19 put on the Council’s estates team.
Catherine Gourlay, Town Clerk for Workington Town Council said: “We are absolutely delighted to be able to finally have the new play equipment and trees planted.
“They really enhance the area and not only give the children something else to play on, but the trees will provide much needed shelter and food for our wildlife.
“A huge thanks to Wythegill Wind Farm Community Fund for providing funding to allow us to do this.”
Wooden hurdles have been added to the play area, along with a variety of trees and shrubs, including rowan, crab apple, cherry, magnolia, hydranger and cotoneasters.
