Women’s Football Continues In Andrea Buggy Women’s League Cup

The Wednesday night football continued in the Andrea Buggy Women’s League with three cup games.

On Wednesday August 3 in the next round of games Abbeytown lost 1-3 to Whitehaven AFC with Megan Batey, Ashleigh Mcallister and Courtney Mckenzie on target for Whitehaven and Hannah Wilson for Abbeytown.

Allerdale Wildcats lost to Vickerstown Ladies in a nine goal thriller where the Wildcats pulled it back to 3-4 before Vickerstown ran in another two goals to 3-6.

It was a tight goalless draw as Workington Diamonds hosted Penrith AFC Rubies.

On Tuesday August 9 Vickerstown Ladies played Workington Diamonds where the hosts came away with a 1-2 win.

Newlaithes Ladie are back in action with a trip to Abbeytown Ladies while Whitehaven AFC Ladies host Cockermouth Highfield Ladies.

All three matches are 19:15 (7:15pm) kickoff on Wednesday August 10.
