Update On A66 Stainton Collision

A man who was struck by a car on the A66 at Baron’s Hill near Stainton, Penrith, has died.

The collision occurred shortly after 11am on August 5 and involved a pedestrian and a Skoda Fabia.

The pedestrian, a man in his 90s from Penrith, was taken from the scene by air ambulance but has subsequently died. 

The driver of the Skoda, a man in his 80s from Buxton, was uninjured.

The A66 was closed whilst officers conducted their enquiries with the road reopening at around 5pm.
