Cumbria Cricket League Saturday Wash Out

Rain stop played in the Cumbria Cricket League but some games managed to be played over the weekend.

All the matches in the Premier Division were abandoned meaning Carlisle stay top and Whitehaven are still bottom.

All the Saturday matches fell in Division One but on Sunday July 31 the better weather meant Millom 2nd could face Furness 2nd.

Millom won the toss and batted first with opener Robert Thompson scoring 31 and Dominic Connor reaching 43 as Furness bowled them out for 220 with bowler Harris Woods taking 4 for 26 runs from his 9.2 overs.

Chasing Furness were bowled out for 134 with Harris Woods scoring 23 and Elliot Maxfield making 28 as Adam Kelly took 5 wickets for 30 runs.

In Division Two on Saturday there were two abandoned matches and a conceded game.

Ulverston 2nd conceded their fixture against Whitehaven 2nd while Vickerstown and Lindal Moor 2nd, Haverigg 2nd and Barrow were abandoned.

On Sunday July 31 Dalton 2nd took on Cleator 2nd.

Batting first Dalton were bowled out for 96 in reply Cleator successfully chased the total down reaching 97 for 2 wickets.
