Consolidation At The Top Of National Conference League

By Robert Haile

Cumbrian derby win, consolidation at the top and upsets in the National Conference League as teams play postponed games.

In the Premier Division the sides have a weekend off and will resume on Saturday July 2

In Division One Kells stay in second after losing 19-6 Oulton Raiders who moved up to third.

Featherstone Lions move to within two points of the top six after beating Skirlaugh 36-20 and made it likely that the bottom three has been decided.

Though not mathematically certain the seven point gap to ninth placed Skirlaugh makes Myton Warriors’ 28-22 win over Saddleworth Rangers important, specially as Skirlaugh and Featherstone Lions have a game in hand.

Table toppers Heworth have a five point gap to second placed Barrow Island in Division Two after beating Dewsbury Moor Maroons 48-14.

Woolston Rovers lost 42-0 to Dewsbury Celtic but have now played a game more than most of those around them.

In Division Three Hensingham and Millom played out a thrilling derby with the visitors taking the game by two point with a 32-34 win.

It was a more comfortable win for Seaton Rangers as they beat Drighlington 66-12 to move joint third.

There is no change at the bottom as Drighlington sit six points above Hensingham who occupy eleventh and the second re-election spot.
