Carlisle Man Jailed For Five Years For Robbery Of A Delivery Worker

A Carlisle man has been jailed for five years for robbing a pizza delivery worker.

Tjay O’Neil, aged 31, of Briar Bank, Carlisle, was sentenced on June 8 at Carlisle Crown Court for robbery.

O’Neil was found guilty by a jury.

The investigating officer in this case, Detective Constable Lisa Atkinson, said: “This was a terrifying ordeal for the victim, who was simply doing his job.

“Robbery and such threatening behaviour will not be tolerated and any would-be offenders can be assured that any incident will be robustly investigated.

“We would like to thank the victim in this case for the bravery they have shown throughout our investigation.”

The incident occurred on August 23 last year on Briar Bank where O’Neil jumped into the victim’s Mercedes car before he sped off when the victim got out.
