With the league leaders not playing the teams behind them had a chance to catch up in the Andrea Buggy Women’s League.
Four games took places on Wednesday, June 1, league leaders Whitehaven AFC Ladies trip to Vickerstown Ladies postponed.
Second placed Cockermouth Highfield Ladies recorded a 3-0 over Xtreme Fitness Ladies to move within a point of top spot after a Kirsty Bates double.
Eight goals were scored between Abbeytown Ladies and Allerdale Wildcats with the hosts recording a 7-1 win as Shelia Paisley and Hannah Wilson bagged two goals each with Eden Beattie, Abbie Woodburn and Lucy Carr sharing the other three.
An under strength Kendal United Ladies who played one half with 6 and the other with 7 lost 0-15 Newlaithes Ladies.
Seven goals for Nicola Smith, two each for Meg McCormick and Jade Williams and Chelsea Norris, Vicky Buzniak, Abbie Hopper and Amy Labram completed the scoring.
In another high scoring match Penrith AFC Ladies beat Workington Diamonds 11-2.
This Wednesday June 8, Whitehaven AFC Ladies face Penrith AFC Ladies, Cockermouth Highfield Ladies travel to Workington Diamonds, Newlaithes Ladies play Vickerstown Ladies, Stanwix Ladies host Xtreme Fitness Ladies and Allerdale Wildcats play Kendal United Ladies.
All matches are 19:15 (7:15pm) kickoff.
