Whitehaven Footballer Starts As Man United’s FA Cup Dream Continues

Former Carlisle United Academy goalkeeper, Dean Henderson, kept his place in the Manchester United team for the FA Cup.

After the exciting fourth round tie against Liverpool where a Burno Fernandes free kick put United through, West Ham United were the visitors to Old Trafford.

The Whitehaven born England international had a very quiet first half where he wasn’t called upon to make a save against a toothless West Ham attack.

It took until the 70 minute with a Wan-Bissaka miss hit clearance that almost spun into the top corner for Henderson to have to scurry back to spare the United defenders blushes.

In a game where chances were few the sides headed into extra time where Scott McTominay beat West Ham’s Lukasz Fabianski in the seven minute with a shot from the centre of the box into the bottom corner.

In the 24 minute of extra time West Ham’s Benrahma placed a free header straight at Henderson who made the straight forward save to ensure his side progressed.

Manchester United will find out who they will face in their seventh consecutive FA cup quarterfinal on Thursday before Barnsley take on Chelsea.
