Five People Arrested On Suspicion Of Attempted Murder In Carlisle

Five people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a serious incident in Carlisle.

Police were called to an incident on Sunday evening where two men, aged 31 and 27, had been injured.

Detectives have also issued a fresh appeal for anyone with information or dashcam footage of this part of the city to come forward as inquiries continue after two men were injured.

The 31-year-old man suffered stab wounds and remains in a stable condition in hospital.

The 27-year-old suffered serious injuries not believed to be life-changing – he is also in a stable condition in hospital.

Three people were earlier arrested as part of the inquiry – man, aged 27, and a woman, also 27, have now been bailed.

Another 26-year-old man was released under investigation.

The two latest arrests – two men, both 25, from Carlisle – were made in the early hours of this morning, Tuesday February 9, and they remain in custody.

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw anything that might be relevant in the St Ninians Road area, particularly where the road meets the distinctive bridge area, between 9.30pm and 11.30pm on Sunday to come forward.

Detectives are also asking anyone who may have dashcam footage of this area at this time to check it and get in touch.
