Three charged with attempted murder as victim remains in hospital

Three people have been charged with attempt murder as the victim remains in hospital with serious injuries.

Two men and a woman have been charged with attempted murder and GBH following an investigation into an assault in Workington.

Andrew Potts, 44, Whitehaven, Antony Gunn, 40, and Melissa Howlett, aged 35, both of no fixed address have appeared at Workington Magistrates’ Court.

The charges are in connection with an assault that occurred in Peter Street in the early hours of Wednesday where a victim sustained suspected stab wounds.

The victim, a man aged in his 30s, remains in hospital receiving treatment for serious injuries.

Detectives are continuing their appeal for witnesses or anyone who saw anything suspicious.
