Barrow AFC and Ennerdale Brewery have launched a brand new beer celebrating J.H. Hind the man who founded Barrow football club 125 years ago.
Named in honour of J.H. Hind, whose vision led to the formation of Barrow AFC, the J.H. Hind IPA brings another piece of the Club’s history into the anniversary celebrations.

A shipyard foreman, engineer and inventor J.H Hind called a meeting at the Old Drill Hall in the Strand on July 16, 1901 and Barrow AFC was born.
The specially designed bottle pays tribute to our founder and the beginnings of the Bluebirds, marking a fitting addition to the Club’s 125th year.
The new beer has been supported by Mossop, a pitchside sponsor of Barrow AFC since 2022 and official beer sponsor.
A spokesperson for Ennerdale Brewery said: “We’re delighted to unveil J.H. Hind IPA, in partnership with Barrow AFC and supported by Mossop to celebrate the Club’s 125th anniversary and honour its founder, J.H. Hind.
“J.H. Hind IPA will be available exclusively at Barrow AFC served in the 1901 Bar and throughout Holker Street on matchdays.
“Congratulations to everyone at Barrow AFC on reaching 125 years, and thank you for choosing Ennerdale Brewery to help mark the occasion.”
J.H. Hind IPA will be available for the first time from this weekend, served in the 1901 Bar and throughout the Holker Street Stadium.
