Historic Muncaster Castle hosted the second edition of its Corporate Challenge with the King of Cumberland providing a royal feel to the day.
The event, developed in collaboration with the Cumbria Chamber of Commerce, reached new heights this year with teams travelling from all over the country to take on the King of Cumberland’s tasks in the hopes of becoming Corporate Challenge Champions.
Teams from as far as London and Bristol came together for a packed day of activites throughout the Muncaster Estate.

Kev Warman from the Cumbria Chamber of Commerce said: “It was brilliant to step out of the office and into the arena for Cumbria’s most prestigious team development day.
“The Muncaster Corporate Challenge combines strategy, problem solving and games across the stunning backdrop of the Muncaster Estate to help teams discover hidden strengths away from daily deadlines, all concluding with an evening of celebration complete with local food, drink and live entertainment.”
They took on scavenger hunts, solved murder mysteries, and put their combat skills to the test in The Weapons Hall.
While all teams competed valiantly, there could be only one winner, and this year’s title went to Assystem’s Red Team, who proved to be worthy champions.

The Muncaster Corporate Challenge is a high-point in Muncaster’s corporate calendar, offering a chance for teams to come together, test their teamwork skills, and most importantly have fun.
Peter Frost-Pennington, the King of Cumberland Pennington said: “It was wonderful to see teams from near and far come together for a day of festivities at Muncaster.”
Meanwhile Ewan Frost-Pennington said: “It was great to welcome both new and returing teams to this year’s Muncaster Corporate Challenge.
“Corporate has become a big part of what Muncaster does and we are having so much fun with it.
“Turns out a castle in the Lake District with creative team members and good food and drink is the recipe for something special.”

The Muncaster Corporate Challenge will return next year, however, in the meantime anyone looking for a corporate venue like no other need look no further than Muncaster.
Muncaster Castle sits majestically in 77 acres of wild, woodland gardens with breathtaking views of the Lake District Fells, including Scafell Pike, England’s highest mountain.
The castle has been the ancestral home to the Pennington Family since at least 1208 when ownership of the land was confirmed through a charter from King John and is home to fabulous collections of art, antique furniture and textiles.
