Cumbria Police are appealing for witnesses to a crash that hospitalised a woman in her 70s.
On Saturday, June 20, police responded to reports of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian at around 3:30pm.
The incident took place in Sainsbury’s car park, on Church Street in Carlisle and involved a woman, in her 70s, and a blue Nissan Note.
The woman suffered serious injuries requiring hospital treatment.
The driver of the car, a 34-year-old woman from Carlisle, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. She has subsequently been released on bail whilst the investigation continues.
Police have launched an appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
