A66 fatal: Police name West Cumbrian man, 45, who died in two-car crash

Police have released the name of the West Cumbrian man who died in a two-car crash on the A66.

In the early house of Saturday, June 6, police responded to reports of a crash on the A66. 

The incident occurred near Thornthwaite and involved a Ford and a Dacia.

The driver of the Dacia, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The driver of the Ford was taken to hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening or changing, police said.

Police have confirmed the man who died was 45-year-old Pete Faulkner, from Cockermouth.

Police continue to appeal for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

A spokesperson for Cumbria Police said: “Police are investigating the collision and are appealing for any witnesses – or anyone who saw anything relevant – to contact them on 101, referring to incident 23 of June 6.”
