A man has died at the scene of a two-car crash on the A66, police have confirmed.
In the early house of Saturday, June 6, police responded to reports of a crash on the A66.
The incident occurred near Thornthwaite and involved a Ford and a Dacia.
The driver of the Dacia, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Ford was taken to hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening or changing, police said.
Police have launched an appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
A spokesperson for Cumbria Police: “Police are investigating the collision and are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone who saw anything relevant, to contact them on 101, referring to incident 23 of June 6.”
