Rossendale Borough Councillor has encourage residents to apply for Heating Oil Support Scheme.

The council has launched the Heating Oil Support Scheme to help residents facing challenges with rising fuel costs.

It offers targeted financial support to households who rely on heating oil to heat their homes.

Now open for applications, the scheme is part of the Council’s ongoing work to support residents through the cost-of-living pressures affecting communities.

Longholme Councillor Liz McInnes – Rossendale Council

Councillor Liz McInnes, Portfolio Holder for Communities, Housing, Health and Wellbeing, said: “We know many households are feeling the impact of rising energy prices, and this scheme is one of the practical steps we’re taking to support our residents who rely on heating oil.

“If you think you might be eligible, please do apply, even if you’re unsure.

“We want to make sure help reaches the people who need it most.”

It is designed to help low-income households and those experiencing financial hardship to keep their houses warm and manage increasing energy costs.

To be eligible households must:

  • Live in Rossendale
  • Use heating oil as their main heating fuel
  • Pay for their heating oil directly
  • Be on a low income or experiencing financial hardship
  • Need support due to rising oil costs making it difficult to heat their home

The Heating Oil Support Scheme is part of the Council’s wider commitment to supporting residents through cost-of-living pressures and ensuring vulnerable households can access essential energy support.

Applications are now open and can be submitted online via the Council’s website here.

Anyone who needs help completing the application form can get support by emailing crisisandresilience@rossendalebc.gov.uk.
