Cumbria Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward after a man in his 60s has died in a crash in West Cumbria.

Shortly before 1pm on Monday, March 3, emergency services were called to an incident Whinlatter Road, Whitehaven.

The incident was a single-car near to the Nisa Local store.T

The driver of the car, a man in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who has any information to make contact with them.

Family of the deceased are aware and are receiving support by specialist officers.

The road was initially closed but has now reopened.
