Supermarket Donates Shoplifted Steaks After Shoplifter Caught Near Community Centre

It was a good day for Cumbria Police, a supermarket and a community centre as a shoplifter was caught with steaks that ended up being donated.

It is a problem supermarkets often have, after a shoplifter steals a large amounts of chilled meat, is that it has to be thrown away after being out the fridge.

This is often the case even if the police catch the person just up the road because of strict policy.

On this occasion the shoplifter with 15 steaks was caught near a local community centre, the food was still packaged and the supermarket kindly allowed the food to be donated to the community centre.

The community centre regularly feed dozens of locals every week and combat loneliness by getting people together around food.

They were very thankful and stated they could put it to good use.

For now the supermarket and community centre will remain nameless unless they wish to name themselves.
