Workington footballer Steffi Hardy has helped Cypriot team Apollon Ladies take their 14th league title and have doubled up with a 12th cup success.
Cyprus side Apollon Ladies wrapped up the league season in style as they were crowned winners of the Cypriot First Division and continued their dominance to go on and finish the full season unbeaten.
At the heart of Apollonโs domestic dominance was former Stainburn School pupil Steffi Hardy who captained the side to success.
In the twentieth and final game of the season on Sunday April 23, Apollon Ladies FC beat Omonia Lefkothea 5-1 to seal a remarkable season where they did not drop a point.
The side did not stop their adding the Cypriot Womenโs Cup to the league title with victory over Omonia Lefkothea on Friday April 28.
After winning the league the Cypriot side will enter the Womenโs Champions League qualifiers looking to build on the success the team has had in the past.
In this seasons competition they beat Latviaโs Rรฏgas FS before losing to Swiss side Zรผrich 1-0 in the final of round 1.
One member of the Apollon squad Manisha Kalyan made history as the first Indian footballer to win a European League title.
