The Cumbria Cricket League has returned on the weekend the damp weather moved in.
With all but one fixture falling to the weather Workington are the early leaders.
Travelling to Cleator the visitors were put into bat after losing the toss for the reduced overs game.
Workington’s openers Thomas Fox and Matthew Lowden got the side off to a good start reaching 38 before Fox was bowled on 24.
Sam Bates followed quick as Cleator looked to take control but New Zealander Davis Mills came in a helped as Lowden fell with Workington on 66, Callum Sutton on 95 and Liam Hazzard on 105.
When Mills was bowled by David Blackwell for 35 Workington suffered a collapse going from 115 for 6 to 118 for 8 and finished on 123 from their 28 overs with Blackwell, Tom Sharpe and Abdul Muzammil taking 2 wickets each.
In reply Cleator never got going with Paul Knott top scoring with 17 as Mills took three wickets for 10 runs as Cleator finished on 99 for 8.
Clubs will look to get their season started on Saturday April 22 as Carlisle start the defence of their title at home to Keswick as last seasons second placed side Cockermouth head to Whitehaven looking to go step further this year.
Workington host Millom, Cleator welcome Haverigg, Wigton travel to Furness and Lindal Moor will play their first Premier Division game at home to Egremont.

Promoted Vickerstown head to Seascale while relegated Dalton travel to Kirkby in Furness.
Furness 2nd host Millom 2nd, Hawcoat Park take on Cockermouth 2nd and Ulverston face the trip to Workington 2nd.
