The return of the Andrea Buggy Women’s League proved to be a close start for most of the sides involved.

Kicking off on Wednesday April 19 the 2022 league and cup champions Newlaithes Ladies FC were too strong for Carlisle United Ladies Development as they ran out 1-6 winners.

Whitehaven AFC’s two sides were both in action as the Blue team managed to secure a 2-2 draw at home to Workington Diamonds while the Yellow team were beaten 2-1 at Flimby Rugby League by Xtreme Fitness Ladies.

Allerdale Wildcats were beaten 1-2 by Abbeytown Ladies at Energy Coast University Technical College, Workington and at Rickerby Park, Carlisle Stanwix Bees were beaten by the same scoreline by Penrith AFC Rubies.

There are four games on Wednesday April 26 as Abbeytown face Whitehaven AFC Blue at the Abbeytown Recreation Field as Allerdale Wildcats are back at the Energy Coast University Technical College taking on Xtreme Fitness Ladies.

Newlaithes continue their defence against Stanwix Bees at the Sheepmount Stadium, Carlisle and Workington Diamonds host Penrith AFC Rubies at Jane Pit

Vickerstown Ladies get their campaign underway on Thursday April 27 when they travel the Whitehaven County Ground to face the Whitehaven AFC Yellow team.

Both days matches are a slightly later kickoff of 7pm (19:00).
