Copeland MP Skills Fair Line Up Confirmed With BSL Interpreter Attending

The line-up has been confirmed for this week’s Skills and Careers Fair, hosted by Copeland MP Trudy Harrison, and it will even have a BSL interpreter attending.

Thirty-four companies will attend Whitehaven Civic Hall on Friday, April 28 from 2pm to 6pm, to offer information and guidance on a wide range of careers.

Mrs Harrison said: “I’d like to thank all the organisations for their commitment to the Skills and Careers Fair; it promises to be an enjoyable and informative afternoon.

“There are so many interesting and rewarding careers available in Copeland and I look forward to helping to showcase a selection of them.”

The Skills and Careers Fair is being supported by Cumbria Deaf Association, and a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter will be in attendance.

Also supporting the event is Team Autism, whose members will be on hand to assist any visitors who are autistic.

Mrs Harrison added: “The Skills and Careers Fair will be as inclusive as possible. We anticipate the first hour (2pm to 3pm) will be the least busy – before the schools finish – so encourage those who prefer a quieter atmosphere to join us at this time.

“Additionally, we have a quiet space available, away from the noise of the main hall, to allow individual conversations between guests and employers where preferred.”
