Cup Action Takes Centre Stage In Lancashire FA Women’s County League

The Lancashire FA Women’s County Leagues teams are turning their attention to the cup as the leagues come to there conclusions.

Lancaster City know that when they head to Kendal Town on Tuesday April 25 a win will give them the Division One title after a close 3-4 win at Chipping on Sunday April 16.

In the cup Kendal Town and Sir Tom Finney went to penalties after a 2-2 draw with the home side winning 4-2.

In the cup Lancaster City face St Annes on April 23 kicking off at 2pm (14:00).

In Division One South/East second placed Penwortham Town moved three points behind Euxton with victory a 0-6 win at Astley Bridge on April 16 while Darwen won 2-0 at home to Lostock.

There are no league games on April 23 as the cup takes over as AFC Wigan travel to Blackpool Town, Penwortham Town host Cadley, Horwich face Darwen and Lostock take on Clitheroe.

All matches are a 2pm (14:00) kickoff.

In the Premier Division Fleetwood Town wrapped up the title with a 4-2 win against second placed Bury on Thursday April 20.

On Tuesday April 18 Langho won 5-3 at home to Accrington Stanley and Colne beat Burnley 1-3 on April 16.

Just the one game in the division on April 23 as Darwen welcome Stanwix after they were awarded their cup match against Burnley.

In the cup Clitheroe face Bury while Colne take on Fleetwood Town.

The matches kick off at 2pm (14:00).

In the Championship in the only weekend game on April 16 Blackpool beat Bolton County 6-2 before the battle of Bolton on Thursday April 20 ended in a 2-7 win to league winners Bolton Wanderers over Bolton County.

There are no league fixtures on April 23 but Bolton Wanderers head to Accrington Stanley, Bolton County take on Blackpool and Fleetwood Town host Penrith AFC as the cup fixtures start.
