Cumbria Police identified the body in Glasson this week as a Carlisle man.

It was confirmed yesterday, Wednesday, April 19, the body of a man was found on the beach near Glasson at around 5:30pm on Tuesday, April 18.

Police have now formally identified the person as Dean Beaty from Carlisle. An appeal was launched in December 2022 after Dean vanished before Christmas. The 38-year-old was last seen on December 7.

The death is being treated as not suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
