Andrea Buggy Women’s League Returns For 2023

The football doesn’t stop as the Andrea Buggy Women’s League returns.

Kicking off on Wednesday April 19 eleven teams have entered this years 9-a-side competition with two new entries as two teams does not return.

The withdrawals from last season are 2022’s third placed side Cockermouth Highfield Ladies and Kendal United Ladies while Carlisle United Ladies have entered their development side and Whitehaven AFC have two with a Yellow and Blue side.

2022 league and cup champions Newlaithes Ladies FC head to Carlisle United Ladies Development as they start their campaign on Wednesday April 19.

Both Whitehaven AFC sides are in action as the Blue team welcomes Workington Diamonds and Yellow team travel to Flimby Rugby League to take on Xtreme Fitness Ladies.

Allerdale Wildcats face Abbeytown Ladies at Energy Coast University Technical College, Workington and Rickerby Park, Carlisle hosts Stanwix Bees match with Penrith AFC Rubies.

All matches kickoff at 18:45 (6:45pm).

The league that started in 2015 is now in its eighth year and was renamed for the 2021 season in memory of former player Andrea Buggy.
