Unbeaten Records And Final Games In Sight In The Lancashire FA Women’s County Leagues

There are unbeaten records and league titles in sight as Lancashire FA Women’s County Leagues heads towards its final games.

In Division One Whitehaven’s 1-4 win at St. Annes on March 5 was bitter sweet as Niamh Morgan sustained a fractured tibia.

Lancaster City are four points behind after a 7-1 win at home to Chipping and Cadley got the better of a nine goal thriller 5-4 against Kendal.

In the final games of the season Blackpool host Whitehaven on March 12 and Lancaster know three wins from three will give them the title as they start with a trip to Chipping.

Both games kick off at 2pm (14:00).

In Division One South/East the two games on March 5 were both big wins as Clitheroe lost 2-12 to Astley Bridge and Penwortham won 1-6 at home to AFC Wigan.

AFC Wigan and Clitheroe are back in action when they face each other on March 12, Penwortham Town host Darwen and Lostock take on Horwich.

All three matches are a 2pm (14:00) kickoff.

In the Premier Division Fleetwood made it 12 wins with a 2-6 victory at Langho on March 5.

Colne’s 0-4 win at Clitheroe keeps them 10 points behind, Bury moved above Stanwix with a 1-6 win at Accrington and Darwen picked up a 3-1 win over Burnley.

The top three are in action on March 12 as Fleetwood take on Bury, Colne travel to Burnley and Darwen host Langho.

In the Championship the top two were in action on March 5 as Bolton Wanderers stayed top with a 1-5 win over Preston North End while GT7 Academy ran out 6-2 Bolton County.

In a repeat of the match the previous week Morecambe lost 1-2 against Fleetwood and Blackpool lost 5-7 to Euxton in a 12 goal thriller.

Bolton Wanderers can extend their lead at to top when they visit Fleetwood on March 12.

Blackburn host Preston North End, Morecambe head to Bolton County and Euxton host Penrith.

All other matches are a 2pm (14:00) kickoff.
