Cumbria Police has released a CCTV image of a man they wish to identify as they continue to investigate a Carlisle rape report.

Detectives investigating the report say they are looking to identify the man pictured and described his as wearing dark clothing and carrying a bag across his body.
Police received the rape report on Sunday, February 12, at 12:10am – the incident is reported to have occurred in Mary Street at some point between 10pm and 11pm on, February 11.
It is believed that this man walked through Denton Holme, Carlisle at approximately 10:30pm on Saturday, February 11.
Police are now encouraging any with information that may assist with identifying this man to contact them and would also encourage the man to contact the police himself.
Detective Sergeant Stephen Kidd said: “Detectives have been carrying out a number of enquiries since receiving the report including house-to-house and viewing CCTV.
“Anyone with information regarding the incident or can identify the man is asked to get in touch.
“We are continuing to support the victim throughout this investigation, and the public will continue to see a police presence into the weekend with the safety of the public paramount.”
