The build up to the Cumbria Cricket League continues as Workington have revealed their overseas professional for the 2023 season.
Taking to social media the club teased the news yesterday, February 5 before announcing today, February 6, that New Zealander Davis Mills will be joining the club.

In the post on Facebook the club statement read: “Workington Cricket Club are delighted to announce the signing of New Zealander Davis Mills as our overseas player for the 2023 season!
“Davis joins WCC from New Plymouth, in NZ and arrives with a huge amount of experience in coaching and has all the assets the club requires to have a successful season.
“He is a very handy all rounder in fine form for his club side in New Zealand.
“He will be a huge asset in our community and working with our juniors, with him assisting both school training sessions and our club sides.
“Davis will arrive in time for our national league cup game and everyone in the club can’t wait to welcome him to WCC, we hope everyone in Workington can help Davis feel at home!”
The Cumbria Premier Division side finished sixth in 2022 and won the Higson cup beating Wigton in the final.
In the National Club Championship Workington face Cherry Tree of the North West Cricket League.
