The 2023 Cumbria cricket season is only months away and Egremont Cricket Club have announced their professional player for the season.

Taking to social media the club have revealed that Kerala’s Vathsal Govind will be joining the West Cumbrian side.

Indian Vathsal plays for Kerala and made his First Class debut in December 2018 and three months later in February made his international debut against South Africa A for India Under 19s.

In 2022 Egremont finished eleventh in the Premier Division after winning promotion from Division One in 2021.

The club will start the 2023 season with a trip to Haverigg on Saturday April 22.
